At this day we’ve got a lot of driving through the freeways. It is really different from the Finnland forests and the Norway fjords. At last we have reached the Paris. The semifinal has happened on the Nation Square, near that beautiful house. The p?tanque players didn’t notice us and the life in city is still as usual.
This is the Desmond Whitechurch, 81 years old. He is the eldest raider, who has reached the finish. He is a very charming man. The age is not an obstacle for journey.
Desmond has quitted his car. It is Honda Accord Aerodeck 1988. This is the old school – it didn’t receive any wreckage through entire tour. The name of the car and the mileage in 20 years are with it.
And this is our beauty Simon. She is living in Pou the department of East Pyrenees. She is writing verses and music, singing and playing on the piano. She is 69 years old.
This is okay that locals are interested in raid.
And this is the eldest player, who was unable to overcome the entire journey.
Praise the God because everyone is alive. We have only the a few dents and a broken side glass.
At this photo are Sasha and Oksana with the Julian PIGNOL, who has actually will the first place in the final standings (a little bit to far).
When come the time for the last ride, we have revealed that Simon’s accumulator is dead. But the others have given her the hand of the help. We are united as crew.
The cavalcade has moved to the Vencenic castle. There is a BMV which looks like it was taken from the garbage den. The 10 kilometers road was hell of a ride for them, but they made it!!!
Near the finish we are shooting everything. Alan is putting the Swedish flag, The BMW is blanking with blanker. The emotions are raging.
The column is on the finishing route.
The cars are parking. This is the same place where we have started 30 days before.
In forward are Claude, Alan and Simon.
The Prius is really proud of himself.
The raiders are meeting with their families.
The mood is high.
Everybody are take their positions. The weather is warm. The rain has stopped.
The last formalities are on the way.
The next was the award of the winners and the show of the best photos. We have received the second place and we were the first Ukrainian crew in 15 years since the raid born.
Here it is, the tale about the journey has ended. More photos you can see in my gallery Google Picasa.
